Sermon Series: Curious?

Matthew 28:1-14, The Resurrection and The Guards Report

Bottom Line:

  • Jesus is not dead; He is alive!

Objective:

Kids will learn that Jesus truly rose from the dead, giving him power over death.

SUMMARY:

Many people wonder if the resurrection really happened or if it was just a story or hoax. Kids will learn that this hoax idea dates back to the resurrection itself, when the rulers bribed Roman soldiers to lie about Jesus coming back from the dead.

Dear God,

Thank you that Jesus is alive!

In Jesus’ name, Amen

Matthew 4:1-11, The Temptation

Bottom Line:

  • Jesus knows what it’s like to be human!

Objective:

Kids will learn that Jesus can comfort us because he faced the same challenges we do.

SUMMARY:

Because Jesus is God the Son, it’s hard to imagine he had to deal with the same things we have to deal with, like hunger, fear, and temptation. Kids will learn that Jesus experienced the same struggles we do, yet without sinning.

Prayer & encouragement for students.

Dear God,

Thank you for giving us a Savior who knows our struggles.

In Jesus’ name, Amen

Sermon Series: Curious?

Who is Jesus?

Matthew 16:13-23, Peter’s Confession

BOTTOM LINE:

Jesus is the Son of God and our Savior.

OBJECTIVE:

Kids will learn that Jesus is the Son of God, sent by the Father to save us from our sins.

SUMMARY:

Most people have heard of Jesus, but many don’t really understand who he is. Even when Jesus walked the earth, most of the people who he met didn’t “get it.” Kids will learn that Peter was one of the first to truly recognize that Jesus is God’s Son.

Prayer & encouragement for students.

Dear God,

Thank you for showing us your Son Jesus.

In Jesus’ name, Amen
