Who is Jesus?

Matthew 16:13-23, Peter’s Confession

BOTTOM LINE:

Jesus is the Son of God and our Savior.

OBJECTIVE:

Kids will learn that Jesus is the Son of God, sent by the Father to save us from our sins.

SUMMARY:

Most people have heard of Jesus, but many don’t really understand who he is. Even when Jesus walked the earth, most of the people who he met didn’t “get it.” Kids will learn that Peter was one of the first to truly recognize that Jesus is God’s Son.

Dear God,

Thank you for showing us your Son Jesus.

Sermon title: Jesus rises from the grave.

John 20:1-18

BOTTOM LINE:

Because Jesus lives, we can have a new life!

OBJECTIVE:

- For kids to understand the meaning of Easter.

SUMMARY:

On Easter Sunday we celebrate the happy ending - Jesus is risen! Because Jesus rose from the grave, we can be reunited with God. We can receive eternal life, and a new life here on Earth. Until then, Jesus wants us to share the good news with others.

Prayer & encouragement for students.

Dear God,

Thank you for sending Jesus to save us from our sins.

Thank you for new life, and thank you for your amazing love.

Give us the opportunity to share that good news so others can know your love too.
